Online Keno

Keno is an ancient game of chance whose roots can be traced back to China during the Han dynasty. It gradually moved around the world and ended up in America as a result of Chinese immigration.

There is also another legend related to the spread of writing. In order for children to learn thousands of Chinese characters, a kind of first manual was invented, based on nursery rhymes. The poem contained a thousand single lines and was called “a thousand classical characters”.

The poem was used to teach children to read and write. The fact that none of the thousand characters were used more than once makes it an amazing achievement. The signs were arranged in rhyme and the poem was easy to remember, but it was still hard enough to know it by heart.

Mobile Keno offers casino players the chance to play this popular game of chance anywhere they wish at any time of the day. As mentioned earlier, keno resembles lottery and bingo. It was played for many decades before the mobile version of keno was launched.

A large number of online casinos today have mobile keno for their players. They are aware that many players have started using their mobile devices to access the internet and that is why they have decided to create special mobile versions of their popular games.

Available games for Keno

There is only one – well, there are different ways to play it, but – Keno is a simple game. It involves a total of 80 numbers – yes, 1 to 80 – with twenty numbers drawn in each game.

Players can wager between $1 to $4999 per game. The more numbers you choose, i.e. 20 or 40, the jackpot decreases but your odds increase. Then there are the smaller ones and again, they have smaller wins. You can bet on a number, but it only pays $3 on a $1 draw.

How many games?

The most games you can play / pay out at any one time is 200. We did some quick calculations and that works out to about 600 minutes or 10 hours. Incomprehensible!

Adding Heads, Evas and Tails

There is a simplified version where players choose Heads, Evens or Tails. A Heads $1 bet means you are guessing that more numbers will be drawn from the top of the game chip or 1 to 40.

Tails means you are guessing that more numbers will be drawn from the bottom half of the ticket or 41 to 80. Evens means you are guessing that the 20 numbers drawn will be equal at the top and bottom. Heads & Tails pays double your bet. Evens pays four times your bet.

The Block System

Based on experience, professional players develop their own methods of selecting numbers. One of the most effective systems recognised by fans of the game is the so-called ‘block system’.

How to start playing Keno

In keno the rules are very simple. There are 80 possible numbers, of which 20 will be drawn during a round. Before the draw, you select between 1-10 numbers that you think could be drawn and mark them on a special piece of paper, much like a lottery ticket.

You present your ticket along with you and wait for the draw to see if you hit any of the numbers. If you match a combination of numbers you will be paid according to the number of matches. The rules for the online version of the game are the same as its land-based sibling.
